It is life

It is life by Yaoling

Yesterday
I dropped the drinking glass
Watching it falling from the table

Empty glass
Fallen motion
Yesterday
TOO LATE

My hands reached out
Broken pieces turn into
Beautiful, killer diamants
Arraying to my heart
Cutting it into pieces' caos

I gathered scattered scars
With steaming blood
Melting cold white substance
Creating mountains, oceans, rivers, and abyss
I dived into scilence

Floating just under surface of blue ocean
Heartless woman woke up at the night
She looked up
Stunned by what she saw
She inhaled for the first time

Everything came alive
It is life

Portrait study#99 Ms.Lopez in progress

Oil on canvas
45cm x 53cm
I'm so glad that I didn't fail my friend Ms. Lopez this time. It's the second time she poses for me. The first one was a frightened experience...I just couldn't get the image right. For that, I felt really bad for a very long time. But, not anymore, because this afternoon I prove myself that I'm capable of doing it. Tomorrow we'll work for another 1 to 2 hours. I just have to pay attention to not to overwork it.

"Life is full of surprises." This is how I feel every time when I process my every single work. And, it too, its very much like stepping in an adventur with a new sitter. I am reaching my 100 portraits soon and I feel I am not the same person when I first set my goal 6 months ago. It's a new me thanks to all of my sitter friends. Now, I see things differently. I think differently. Nothing frightens me anymore because I am strong and getting better...and better. THANK YOU RENEE!

Portrait study#98 Stephanie

Oil on canvas
45cm x 53cm
I am glad how this study turns out. This is Ms. Stephanie's second study with me. I failed the first one couple months ago. Its color was totally out of control. Although this study is not perfect but I fix its problem this time. Its a great feeling that I'm willing to change reality and actually have it as the way I want.

Portrait study#98 Stephanie in progress

Oil on canvas
45cm x 53cm
The color of skin is fine today but part of the shadow of face is too dark. That makes nose and eyes squeezed together. And the contour of the face is not very right. I have to fix them all tomorrow. But I do like very much the part of chin and lips. The value of color really play a big part of trick here.

I like very much how this study turns out this morning. Colors' fine. Position of the head's ok. Only the bottom line of chin has to be longer, and the shape of the scalp has to be fixed. Well... the skin tone has to be a little more chocolate color.

Portrait study#90 Dra. Mirta

Oil on canvas
45cm x 53cm
Dra. Mirta and I both agree that something is missing this painting. Maybe it is a little overworked. Maybe its a little too detailed. I want something more liberal...more impressionist than realistic. This is Dra. Mirta's second portrait study. The first one is the 10th of the very earliest study. Now, this one is the 90th. I plan to paint her again maybe in Feb. next year...I just have to get the right image of her...the one I  feel...Well, guess, ill just have to paint her until I get what I want. So stubborn I am!

Portrait study#88 Nelita still in progress

Oil on canvas
45cm x 53cm
This morning, Nelita and I, we only worked 10 minutes on this study because people were fixing power lines. There's no electricity. No light of course. I opened all of curtains of my studio, but we still couldn't work because the light wasn't the same. But, you can see the added warm color has changed the whole painting. It gave life to it. We have to wait until next Friday to finish the study. Too long to wait!

I did this 45 minutes charcoal pencil portrait with natural light. A quick study, nice work out! I should do this more often.

Portrait study#88 Nelita in progress

Oil on canvas
45cm x 53cm
Nelita is supposed to come to finish her last study with me but the weather doesn't cooperate. There's no sun light to give the same color as I need. So I decide to do a new one with studio light. It turns out very nice. Its not finished yet but I like it a lot. We should continue tomorrow morning again...Thank you Nelita!

Exhibition announcement

Dear sitters and friends,
The date of my painting exhibition has confirmed by the Taiwanese Embassy who is the one that assists my show from the beginning. It will be from the 16th to 23rd of September, 2016 at the Bliss. Ill inform you the date of opening later.(I forgot!) And, please note that I won't be able to have all of 100 studies displayed at the show because of limited space and many of them aren't mature enough. Ill choose only 20 to 30 out of them. Ill inform you more details about the giving studies if you're concerned about them. I'm close to complete my 100 portrait studies project. Many thanks to your assistance and patient. Without you I won't be able to reach my goal! As for the ones who didn't have the chance to pose for me, I thank you very much for your warm support. Please keep following my work. I appreciate all of the effort you made to make this happen. Many many thanks from my heart!

Portrait study#87 Moose

Oil on canvas
45cm x 53cm
Moose has to come back one more time so I can fix his hair, shirt and add more details. It took a little longer than I thought. Maybe because I was trying to add more colors and painted with my head instead of my heart! Moose is a brilliant young man. I had lots of fun painting him.
