Plein air painting of Silhouette of Landscape

19cm x 24cm
Oil on canvas
Its the second plein air painting of today. It was cloudy and very windy when I was working on it. The light changed constantly. Despite all of the unpredictables, I always enjoy the process of plein air painting. Full of surprises!

Plein air of Rock of Goddess

19cm x 24cm
Oil on canvas
Woke up this morning, feels an urge to start to work. This huge rock is one of my parent's favorite landscape pieces. Of course, it's the priority to paint it this morning. Not only it's a great scenery but also it makes my mom happy too! : )

Plein air of Silent Night on Mountain

19cm x 24cm
Oil on canvas
Last night I did this plein air. I haven't painted for almost 2 weeks. Always feels great to be able to work again. I think this is one of disadvantages while travelling with family. I need to spend time with them. The only time I can paint is while staying on the mountain. Kids got things to do such like chase after the poor geese, help their grandparents gardening, landscaping , so I can concentrate on my work. I love everything here including air I breathe.

Plein air painting of Red Koi

19cm x 24cm
Oil on canvas
It was noon and my mom was so worried that I got sunburned while I was doing this plein air. I admit that I'm a careless person especially when I'm concentrating on my work. I really don't care how I look or the paint accidentally goes on my face. But, yes. It's necessary to wear something to protect myself from the sun.

Plein air painting of Fish Pond

19cm x 24cm
Oil on canvas
Do you see the difference between yesterday's and today's? This morning after I finished the first early morning plein air, I immediately began to work on this one. It took me about an hour and it looks much better now!!!

Plein air painting of Early Birds get what they Want

18cm x 24cm
Oil on canvas
Woke up early this morning. After my breakfast I began to work. My parents too, working on their plants. During the weekdays, my parents stay in Taipei at their office and on the weekends, they do some physical exercise by doing gardening or planting their organic vegetables on their mountain house. They are very proud of their green friends and they do test sweeter!

It's the third weekend in Taipei. As usual, we stay on the mountain house of my parents. I did this plein air painting this morning. It's a small painting but it takes longer than I thought. Its not finished yet.... the sun was burning and I couldn't go on. I'll continue tomorrow morning again. Probably it will need one more hour.

Visited Taipei Fine Arts Museum

This afternoon I visited Taipei Fine Arts Museum with my two kids and my niece. At the end of the visit, I did this drawing at a corner of the museum. It wasn't finished yet.... It was a corner of an open space for everyone who wants to express themselves with drawing papers, color pencils and pens. I did enjoy it. I was working amount the children and probably I was the only adult who dared to do it! It was fun.

One of the exhibitions we visited at the museum was "Looking Glass - Daniel Lee retrospective" He's really good!!!

Plein air of Trees and Yiang-Ming Mountain

24cm x 19cm
Oil on canvas
I think the composition of this plein air is a little too complicated so I simplified it by focusing almost only it's color, light and shades. I do like its background, light mountain color but I'm not very satisfied with the trees. Sure I'll do another plein air with this view again.

Plein air of the Promenade of Yiang-Ming Mountain

24cm x 19cm
Oil on canvas
This is the second plein air this morning. I do love its variety of colors but I haven't pushed far enough the mountain. Its color is supposed to be lighter. It's a quick sketch. It took me only an hour. Now that I'm looking at it, I think it's a bit over worked.

Plein air Smoky Yiang-Ming mountain

Every time when my kids and I visit our families in Taiwan. We love to stay at my parents mountain house every weekend. The mountain house is located exactly on the center of the Chieu-Gieu Lack (竹子湖) Yiang -Ming Mountain, Natinal Park. This is the second weekend on the mountain. The Typhoon Nepartak just left Taiwan but leaves vast of rain clouds. Luckily it wasn't raining this morning. I woke up early and did three plein airs. Feeling great to go back to my routine!
