Portrait study Gia still in progress

Oil on canvas
45cm x 53cm

A tidier and cleaner studio now!

Now, the studio is reorganized and clean. And, as you can see, there's a sofa for my kings and queens!!! I have about 6 months to prepare the exhibition that will held on this September at the Bliss. I think, besides the portraits, I should have couples of land/seascapes and figure paintings in larger scales. Time is definitely short... If I could complete 100 portraits in 6 months, well...to paint a dozens of sea/landscapes won't be a big problem. I hope!!!

Plein air color study near SCA sea side

Study 2. This morning, after I sent my son to his tennis class at 7:30, I drove further to SCA. Then I made a detour and stopped by the sea. This is the second study I did this morning. I like this composition more than the first one. I tried not to go to too detail. The photo I took looks a little far away from the scene. Well, after I finished the work, I packed and left. I was thinking, its almost 11 noon, and I had to feed my kids. Duty called. I totally forgot to take a picture of it. Not until I drove past Princess Hotel, I thought, oh! I forgot to take a pic. So I went back and took this photo so you could actually feel the scene I painted. Mmm.... the color is not quite well.... something's missing.

Color study at the Buttomwood Bay

Oil on panel
25.5cm x 17.5cm
After I dropped my son to school, I went straight to the sea side of the Buttomwood Bay for my first plein air/outdoor landscape color study this year. I worked for almost 3 hours. It was cold and quiet, perfect for my work.
